Practice Makes Perfect - Practice Drawing Regularly from your Beau + Arrow Handbag

Education, training and personal responsibility is key whenever you carry off body whether that's in a purse or a range bag, in your locked glove compartment or any other storage case. You should never let it out of your sight or within accessible distance or opportunity to strangers or little hands. In the case of concealed carry purses, we strongly advocate practice. Like any tool, it performs best when you practice with it, take it to the range regularly and draw from it. This is true whether you decide to store any other kind of self-defense tool in our special, separate and secure compartment be it pepper spray, mace or taser.

Marsala is the New Black Just in Time for Valentine's Day

Back in 2014, when we were in the midst of creating our concealed carry luxury collection, we knew we would always have two core colors - black and brown. We would introduce one, maybe more, fashion colors per season. After some debate, we choose a marsala color, a deep maroon as our main fashion color. Highlighting the Pearl, the Slouchy Hobo Luxury Leather Designer Concealed Carry

When we launch just over a week ago, the first bag that flew off the shelves was the Pearl Slouchy Hobo. As the team here made bets on which design would sell first, all of us were surprised when it was this modern silhouette. We thought we'd have to ease the community into accepting a more stylish and unique handbag not currently available from other carry concealed brands. We were thrilled to prove our belief that a woman who carries a self-defense tool is the same woman who doesn't. She is still a woman and she still loves beautiful things, progressive fashion and stylish silhouettes.

Keep Calm and Carry Chic by Artist Christopher Hayden

For Shot Show 2015, Beau + Arrow commissioned noted Los Angeles based artist Christopher Hayden to create custom works of art reflecting our style and sentiment towards gun ownership. Christopher drew matching pistols "engraved" with our logo and placed over the phrase "Keep Calm and Carry Chic." We couldn't be happier with the results to celebrate our line of luxury leather concealed carry handbags.

Post Show Shot - The Beau + Arrow Experience

What we learned post Shot Show is that the gun industry is more of a community, especially amongst the women. There is a supportive circle that is inclusive and desiring of more women to join and it stems from the women themselves. As a newcomer to the industry and the event, we were made to feel welcome and embraced.

Shot Show - Day 2: Beau + Arrow

Shot Show is understandably male dominated and utilitarian. While guns and self defense are a serious matter, they can also be engaging and entertaining by way of sport. A lot of the apprehension regarding the right to bear arms is because people are uneducated as to how weapons can be kept and used safely. Unfortunately, unless you were raised in a gun culture community, trade shows like Shot Show don't necessarily create an engaging environment to introduce newbies to the gun world. They are meant for industry insiders. That being said, if you have any interest in learning about guns and the industry in general, Shot Show is the place to be. While intimidating at first, the people here are some of the nicest and most educated people we've met in the industry.
